The Launchcloud Android app has been developed significantly that you have access to your data at your fingertips. The android app can be used to submit forms, manage your account information such as your profile picture and password, view submissions, view reports and any other custom dashboards you have. By logging into Launchcloud you will see you have clear access to everything on your account in the side navigation bar. Follow our guide to understand the app itself.
You log in using the email and the password that you signed up for when you were created your Launchcloud account.
After logging in you’ll land on the Android Dashboard, which provides an overview of your account activity such as the number of folders and forms in each account and the last time they were updated. If you have access to multiple accounts, they will all appear here before you reach this information.
By clicking on one of your Launchcloud accounts from the Android dashboard, you’ll find all of your folders displayed to you as cards. Open a folder and you’ll see all of its forms displayed in a similar way.
Cards can be sorted either in alphabetical order or by the date they were last updated. To toggle between the two viewing options, click the three dots in the top right corner, then click the “Sort by” button.
If you’re looking for a specific document, you can quickly find it by using the search icon in the top right corner.
Filling in a Form
When you access a Form, it's really easy and intuitive to then fill it in. You just tap the element in the Form you want to complete and a keyboard or other relevant option will appear. For signatures and star ratings just use your finger or stylus to tap or draw your selection.
While operating a live form, you can enter Kiosk Mode by clicking the box with an arrow in it in the top right corner of the form. Entering Kiosk Mode will lock the app so that it can only display the specified form. This allows you to let users respond to your form without your supervision without having to worry about them accessing the rest of your account.
Tapping the three lines in the top left will show you the sidebar. When this is open you will see your profile and all your open Forms, just switch between them by tapping them or close them by swiping. You will also see any reports you have access to, these are used to access the data that you collect via the forms. The starred forms are here for easy access to those commonly used.
By clicking on your profile image you can change your profile picture and your password.
On this page, you will see an overview of statistics about your account, such as the number of forms that have been submitted. If you are in an area with no internet connection, the forms sent will show as 'queued'. As soon as the internet signal returns these queued forms will send, and then move to the 'Submitted Forms' area. At the top right is a small sync button; pressing it will move along any forms that are queued.
We show you devise storage because if you are offline we need to store the forms until you have a connection. This is important information if you are taking a lot of photos or videos because we will temporarily use the device memory until the connection is able to send the data.
[Important] However if media is removed from the device storage/gallery while submissions are queued the form data will send without the media.
The starred button displays all of the folders and forms you’ve favorited, providing easy access to your most relevant documents. To favorite, an item, click the star icon in the bottom right corner of its card.
Reports in the newest feature of the app and it enables you to manage your whole team in the field from the field yourself. Forcing reports into the app brings the next level of management that we are aiming for. This can be a great tool to draw both teams in the office on web and teams in the field using the app together.
Viewing reports in the app are much like the web, if you are provided access you will first need to navigate there in the side navigation.
You then see a number of tiles, one for each form and each tile represents the data collected by that form.
To look at the data, find the form you want to see, select it itself and you will be provided with the options to view on a map, view media, view graphs and view individual submission.
Depending on the permission level you have will depend if you have access to this information.
Downloading the App
Any user with operator permissions can download the free Launchcloud App onto a mobile device. When you are invited to the Launchcloud system you will receive an email containing a link to set a password, add a picture, and indicate what mobile devices you own. After you have done this, you should click on the app store link and download the Launchcloud App. When you open the app and log in, you are able to view and fill in forms that you have access to. Currently, we support all iOS and Android devices.
We also have a web-based app that will work in any browser. To open the web-based app simply go to launchcloud.com/login from a mobile device or a laptop.
Saving the Form App to the desktop of an Android Device
Here's the clever stuff; once you've set up the Launchcloud Web App you can save it to the desktop of your Android device.
Go the Launchcloud page in your Android browser.
Click on the more button in the browser.
Select the "add to home screen" option.
Input the title "Launchcloud" when requested to do so.
The icon will appear on your Android desktop.
With Launchcloud this gives you a twofold advantage. You get a quick link so access to Launchcloud is one touch away. You get Launchcloud displayed in a way that mimics an actual Android app, without all the annoying browser functions that you don't need.
The Launchcloud capture app works on any mobile devices and tablet using Android version 4.0.3 and up, including devices without cellular ability.
